Disappointing in Person
I loved how this bowl appeared in the listing, but it’s just not that pretty in person. Then I noticed none of their photos are completely in focus. I knew it was made of resin, but it looked like it had a sheen on the surfaces, similar to china. Instead it has a flat, very “plastic-y” finish. The surface of the rim looked somewhat rounded. Instead it’s cut flat with sharp angles at the inside & outside edges, with small chips missing. The “flowing ruffle” looked tapered in the photos. Instead it’s thick all the way down, and then blunt-cut at the base. For the fairly high price, I expected it to imitate a quality bowl better, but it looks cheaply stamped out of a plastics factory. It’s suggested as a “thoughtful gift choice” but I’d be embarrassed to give this to anyone. It reminds me of the old accordion-style lampshades that were once popular. My husband said it looked like a stack of coffee filters. Neither of us can get past those images, so I’m returning it. It seems very sturdy and practical if you want a break-resistant bowl, so some may like it for that. But for its design, contours, finish, and value I’m only rating it 2 stars.
